United Way announces Venture Grant opportunity

United Way of Blount County is accepting 2010 Venture Grant applications for programs addressing financial stability.

Venture Grants are a one year/one time funding opportunity. Additionally, funding is available to address transportation for at-risk dialysis patients.

In order to request funding in either area, a representative from the applying program must attend a mandatory question and answer session on Tuesday, March 16. A session on financial stability will meet at 8 a.m., and a session on transportation will meet at 3 p.m.

Both sessions will meet at the United Way offices, 1615 East Broadway, in Maryville. The session will address how to apply, program specifics, and timeline. Grants for up to $25,000 will be considered.

All applying agencies must provide proof of 501c3 status, serve the residents of Blount County and have been in business for at least one year.
