Pellissippi State offers three ‘Handgun 101’ non-credit courses

Learn how to select, operate, clean and safely store a handgun this summer by enrolling in “Handgun 101” at Pellissippi State Community College. The 2.5-hour non-credit course also covers safety topics such as handgun carry tips, as well as holster selection and use.

Instructors Jerry Huffman and Tom Badgett are certified by the state of Tennessee and the National Rifle Association as handgun instructors. The class provides the foundation for those wishing to take the Tennessee State Handgun Safety Course, which also is taught at Pellissippi State and is a requirement for those seeking to apply for a state handgun carry permit.

“Handgun 101” will be offered two more times this summer:

July 15, 6:30-9 p.m.

Aug. 19, 6:30-9 p.m.

The fee for the course is $35. All classes meet at the Pellissippi Campus, 10915 Hardin Valley Road. For additional information, visit www.pstcc.edu/bcs or call 865-539-7167.
