New place for services

Tangerines opens at site of former Cranberry’s

Maryville has a new place for the salon and day spa services.

Don and Candy Bright of Maryville recently celebrated the grand opening of their new salon/day spa, Tangerines. The salon is in the former location of Cranberry’s Salon and Day Spa at 1104 W. Broadway Ave., Maryville.

Bright said the May 1 event went well in spite of some challenges with the weather.

“There was a lot of participation,” said Bright. “We had about six different performers lined up, and we were doing it to promote and raise funds for Remote Area Medical, Stan Brock’s group out of Knoxville. They do free dental, vision and health care for people in Appalachia and all over the world.”

Bright said that unfortunately because of inclement weather, the majority of the entertainment was rained out shortly after starting and will be rescheduled as a fundraiser and grand opening. “We will set up for late July and try again,” Bright said.

Bright said Tangerines is a full-service salon and spa. “We do all the latest hair styles. Our stylists are up-to-date with training,” he said. “We have the latest trends in color and cuts, and we have talented and well-trained stylists to do that. We also have massage therapy, and we do manicures and pedicures. Pretty much any salon service you want, we can do it.”
