Are you an artist who would benefit from getting in front of 10,000 to 15,000 festival attendees?
If so, apply early to be one of the featured arts and crafts exhibitors at the 7th Annual Pellissippi State Hot Air Balloon Festival. The show is not juried – artisans are only required to offer hand-crafted works. Average yearly attendance for the two-day festival is 10,000 – 15,000, with visitors from the Knoxville area, outlying counties and even from out of state.
For the second consecutive year, the festival has been designated by the Southeast Tourism Society as one of the “Top 20 Events in the Southeast.” Festival features include live music, entertainment, children’s area and food vendors. Two of the most popular activities are the evening balloon glow and tethered balloon rides (weather permitting). The festival is an annual fundraiser hosted by the Pellissippi State Foundation, which raises money that supports programs directly impacting students.
Participating artists receive an assigned 12 x 12 space with 110v outlet. Tables, chairs and tents are optional and may be provided by individual exhibitors. The fee of $125 remains the same as the 2009 artist booth fee. Those interested are encouraged to apply now to reserve a space.
Festival dates this year are Oct. 1 and 2, with hours established as 4 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 and noon – 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 2. The deadline for arts and crafts exhibitor applications is Sept. 1.
