Reading and swimming can be a fun and relaxing day in the sun.
To alleviate the sweltering heat, take the family to the John Sevier or Alcoa Springbrook swimming pool for a fun day in the water on Saturday, July 31. Admission is free all day by presenting a Blount County Public Library card.
This free day is the finale for all three summer reading programs (children, teens and adult) at the library. Because all programs had water themes this summer, all activities and presentations also had water themes.
Therefore, the grand finale, courtesy of Blount County Parks and Recreation and Blount County Public Library, is a free family swim day.
