Maryville Farmers’ Market receives $2,700 grant from TAEP

The Maryville Farmers’ Market recently received a $2,700 grant from the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program.

The TAEP provides cost share funds for long term investments in livestock and farming operations. Participation allows producers to maximize farm profits, adapt to changing market situations, improve operation safety, increase farm efficiency and make a positive economic impact in their communities.

In particular, the TAEP Farmers’ Market Promotion and Retail Grant Program supports publicly owned and operated markets for local farmers selling retail products.

The Maryville Farmers’ Market Board said in a press release the money will be used to increase visibility and community presence via an effective advertising and promotion campaign for the Market which will open on May 1.
