The Blount County Baseball Jamboree is scheduled for Saturday at William Blount. First pitch for the season tune up for area high school teams is at 10 a.m., when the Alcoa and Heritage junior varsity teams get things started. The varsity Tornadoes and Mountaineers follow at noon. A home run derby, with two participants from each of Blount County’s four schools taking part, is scheduled for 2 p.m. At 2:30, the Maryville and William Blount junior varsity teams collide. The Rebels and Governors conclude the afternoon at 4:30. Cost for the day is $5.
