Tomato Head raises more than $1k for Haiti disaster relief

Upon hearing the news of the extensive devastation in Haiti caused by the recent earthquake, the staff and owners of Tomato Head knew they wanted to do something to help.

On Friday, Jan. 15 and Saturday, Jan. 16, The Tomato Head donated five percent of all sales at both the Maryville and Knoxville locations to support disaster relief efforts for Haiti. The fundraiser exceeded expectations, raising $1,154, which will be sent to Doctors Without Borders immediately to assist in their work in Haiti.

The Tomato Head’s commitment to sustainable practices and community engagement is the root of the restaurant’s charity fundraising. In addition to its donation to Doctors Without Borders, once each month The Tomato Head creates a special sandwich and donates the total sales of that one item to a featured charity.

The Tomato Head in Maryville is located at 211 Broadway and can be reached at 865-981-1080 or through, which now features daily specials updates.
