Maryville students receive scholarships from Tusculum College

Two students from the Maryville area have received scholarships at Tusculum College.

Katy Stuckwish of Friendville, a sophomore majoring in pre-pharmacy, received the Harold M. Detrick Memorial Endowed Scholarship and the Phyllis W. McCauley Memorial Endowed Scholarship. The Harold M. Detrick Memorial Endowed Scholarship is presented to able and deserving students on the basis of academic achievement, leadership ability and financial need. The Phyllis W. McCauley Memorial Endowed Scholarship is presented to able and deserving students majoring in the sciences.

Ryan Tallent of Maryville, a senior majoring in sport management, received the First Presbyterian Church of Greeneville Scholarship and the Simpson Family Memorial Scholarship. The Presbyterian Church scholarships are provided to qualified students through a partnership of 69 churches. The Simpson Family Memorial Scholarship is presented to students with financial need from East Tennessee who are academic achievers, good citizens and volunteers in their community.
