$10,000 to be awarded to green project

Need some green to make your business greener?

Business in the Green will award $10,000 to a Knoxville or surrounding area business seeking to make its operations more environmentally friendly and energy efficient. Deadline to enter is March 1, and applications are available at www.knoxvillebiz.com.

The program is now in its third year and sponsored by the Greater Knoxville Business Journal, KUB, Thermocopy and Efficient Energy of Tennessee. The winner will be featured in Business in the Green, a special section highlighting local green achievements, products and services in the Business Journal’s May issue.

The entry form includes questions about a business’ proposed green initiative, steps to implement the initiative, how its success will be measured and the impact on the environment, as well as finances and operations.

Entries will be judged by an independent panel of representatives from local businesses and nonprofit organizations with demonstrated expertise in green initiatives.

For more information or an entry form, visit www.knoxvillebiz.com or contact program coordinator Amanda Hurley at hurleya@knoxnews.com or 865-342-6553.
