On a Maryville High School girls’ soccer team that started as many as seven freshman on occasion this past season, senior Caitlyn Templeton was part of a core group of upper classmen that held it all together. The Lincoln Memorial University Lady Railsplitters noticed, signing the versatile Lady Rebel to a National Letter of Intent on national signing day last week at the high school.
Despite its youth, Maryville surprised many by advancing to the district tournament semifinals before falling to defending state champion Bearden. Templeton, who knocked home four goals along with many other duties on the pitch, was big reason why.
