Jim Scully of Maryville told Blount Today he has decided against running in the upcoming Republican Primary for the District 7-B County Commission seat.
“I need to concentrate on my handyman business,” Scully said. “With the economy, I need to work on getting jobs instead of campaigning. I’ve had lot of people wondering why I got out of it. I want to either wait four years or see if I can do something else before then.”
Scully said he would be interested in serving on the Planning Commission again. “If I am reappointed, I would serve,” he said. “I’ve been on the Planning Commission four years and have been coming to Planning Commission and County Commission meetings for nine years.”
