The crowd that gathered at Applebee’s the morning of Jan. 23 enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast and helped support Boy Scout Troop 87.
“It was successful fundraiser, and we were happy with the turnout,” fundraising chairperson Ginger Rockers said. “It’s nice of Applebee’s to always present that opportunity to organizations. In Scouting, we try to get boys to do their own fundraising so it’s good when they sell tickets, work and serve food at tables and greet the diners.”
Rockers said the Scouts from Troop 87 have been doing the pancake breakfast at Applebee’s for several years. “What the boys do each year is they sell tickets, and the money goes toward paying for their summer camp,” she said. “Every year it is a different camp. This year, they are going to Daniel Boone Boy Scout Camp.”
The Boy Scout Troop 87 scoutmaster is Mark Smith. The troop sponsor is Broadway United Methodist Church.
