Registered nurse Brenda Rhyne has been named director of Blount Memorial Home Services. Rhyne is bringing 25 years of nursing and management experience to her new role.
Her new job duties as director of Blount Memorial Home Services include providing strategic and operational management and direction; overseeing regulatory compliance; and overseeing staff performance to ensure quality care.
Rhyne most recently worked as a case manager in cardiac care at Blount Memorial Hospital for four years. In that position, she performed daily utilization review and discharge planning for cardiac patients. Between 2000 and 2005, she worked as a registered nurse site coordinator, operations manager and assistant director of occupational health at Blount Memorial.
Between 1985 and 1996, Rhyne also worked at Blount Memorial as a critical care nurse and then an on-site nurse coordinator for occupational health. Before returning to Blount Memorial in 2000, she worked for PHP Cariten WORxS program in Knoxville as a case manager, and then a product manager.
Rhyne graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor of science in nursing. She received certification in critical care and advanced cardiac life support in 1988, and became certified in case management in 2008.
