Rockford Christmas Parade celebrates the holiday season

The annual Rockford Christmas Parade heralded in the holidays with the sights and sounds of the Heritage High School marching band, a choral group from Rockford Elementary, antique tractors and plenty of floats.

“It went real well with 75 entries,” said city manager Terry Willett. “We really enjoyed it. The weather held off, and it was great time for everybody.”

The city manager said the Dec. 11 parade featured antique tractors, antique cars, several floats, lots of fire trucks, ambulances, several Cub Scout and Boy Scout floats and the Rockford Tigers football teams from the Grasshoppers up to the Midgets teams and the Rockford Tigers boys and girls basketball teams associated with the school.

“The Heritage High School Band did a performance after the parade and the Rockford Elementary Choral group also did a performance,” she said.
