The Friendsville Christmas Parade was hindered by inclement weather and low temperatures Saturday afternoon.
“We did have it, but it was a lot lighter turn out of participants and observers because of the weather,” said Glenn Chapman, Friendsville water distribution manager.
The parade route started at Friendsville Elementary School and wound through town before it ended back at the school. State Sen. Doug Overbey braved the cold, as did members of the Friendsville Fire Department who spearhead the parade each year.
Santa wasn’t bothered by the weather and bundled-up children followed him through the parade route.
