Louisville Road striping scheduled

Motorists should be aware of street work on Louisville Road that began on Wednesday, Aug. 18, and continues through the evening of Friday, Aug. 20.

The City of Alcoa Public Works and Engineering Department said that workers with Highway Markings Inc., will be removing and re-striping the westbound side of the Louisville Road intersection at the U.S. 129 bypass to include an additional turn lane and signal.

The work is expected to last two nights, running through Aug. 20 with work hours being from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Access to the area businesses will be maintained throughout the project.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution while traveling through this work zone.
