Roland B. Weast, M.D., general surgeon with Premier Surgical Associates in Knoxville, recently received his board certification from the American Board of Surgery. Weast joined Premier in 2009 and practices at Mercy Medical Center St. Mary’s and Mercy Medical Center North.
The American Board of Surgery (ABS) is an independent, non-profit organization certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge.
Board certification requires that physicians demonstrate the currency of their knowledge and their ability to use it by passing a rigorous and challenging examination and through assessing their knowledge and performance on an ongoing basis.
Weast is a graduate of the University of Kansas and the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. Weast lives with his wife, Tristina, and their child in West Knoxville.
