Frazier named director of health information management; Amos transferred to nursing informatics

Vicki Frazier has been named director of Blount Memorial Health Information Management. Before assuming this role, she was the assistant director of Blount Memorial Health Information Management for almost eight years.

Frazier graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 2007 with a bachelor of science in health information management, and is eligible to sit for the Registered Health Information Administrator certification exam.

Frazier began her career at Blount Memorial in 1996 as a transcription supervisor and became manager of health information management in 2000. She was promoted to assistant director of health information management in 2002. Prior to 1996, Frazier was a medical transcriptionist for various physicians and specialties, including at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in the departments of pathology, radiology, and obstetrics and gynecology.

Elizabeth Amos was previously the director of health information management at Blount Memorial, but now has assumed the role of an analyst in nursing informatics, which will play a key role in the implementation of electronic medical records at Blount Memorial.
