Alcoa High School senior Ryan Stoutt signs a National Letter of Intent to continue his football career at Tabor College, Hillsboro, Kan., next season. With Stoutt is his father, Glenn Stoutt.
Most of his rushing and passing statistics Ryan Stoutt brought with him from Florida.
Tabor College was impressed enough with what it saw to be convinced, the Hillsboro, Kan., NAIA school signing the Alcoa High School senior quarterback to a National Letter of Intent recently.
Stoutt spent most of his time during the Tornadoes’ run to the Class 3A state championship last season in the defensive backfield and on special teams, but that doesn’t mean the Coral Springs, Fla., native doesn’t have the arm. The Bluejays coaching staff got an eyeful of Stoutt from a video package on the internet recruiting site berecruited.com. Before moving to Alcoa last summer, the 6-foot, 185-pound Stoutt completed 63 percent of his passes as a high school junior in Florida for 469 yards and 24.7 yards per completion rate.
“Ryan has the leadership we are looking for in a quarterback,” Tabor coach Mike Gardner said on the school’s web site. “He is someone who is beyond his years in terms of experience and has been on both sides of the ball. As a high school player all he has experienced is success on the field, and I look forward to his arrival on campus this fall.”
