Parks & Recreation is offering an additional eight-week beginner running program for those who are new to running or who have just started basic running. All ability levels are welcome, but the class format will be basic for those who are new to running. Each week will include a brief lecture on a related running topic and will then be followed by a run that gradually builds up each week. Topics covered will be nutrition, hydration, stretching, shoes/gear, motivation, and safety. Classes will be held on Mondays, and started on March 22. The classes will run through May 10 from 6–7 p.m. at Springbrook Park Pavilion. This class is open to those ages 18 and up but will also allow those ages 12 and up with a supervising adult that is also enrolled in the program.
