Pastor’s Day is special event for St. Paul

The Rev. Fred Harris is celebrating his first year anniversary with the congregation at St. Paul A.M.E. Church at 810 Hall Road, so he is going to get to sit back and enjoy hearing a fellow minister preach -- at least for part of the day!

St. Paul will have regular worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, with Pastor Harris delivering the message. At 3 p.m. Sunday, the congregation, friends, family and the community is invited to return to the church for Pastor’s Appreciation Day, where they will celebrate Rev. Harris’ anniversary. Special guests are Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and Rev. R.J. Miller, Jr., is delivering the Pastor’s Day message.

In March, “the church where love makes a difference” held their annual Family and Friends Day. At the invitation of Minister of Music Wanda Dean, Blount Today came to chronicle the day with photos. The church was filled with song, scripture, altar calls, poetry and the voices of their children, followed by a special family meal.

These photos were taken at the March celebration of Family and Friends Day. Chairs were Ms. Thelma Watson, chair; and Ms. Carolyn Thompson and Ms. Myra Bell, co-chairs. For more information call 865-984-5855.
