Tremont Outdoor Resort in Townsend was named large Tennessee Campground-of-the-Year during ceremonies at the Tennessee Campground Conference & Trade Show in Crossville. The park was so recognized for its accomplishments in campground operations, marketing, management, and industry unity.

Owned by Wilson Reynolds and managed by Judi and Jesse Beard, the resort has undergone a massive transformation since it was purchased by Reynolds in January 2006. In fact, he has invested over $760,000 in the 55-acre property that includes 145 camping sites.

New additions include 29 riverfront sites, seven camping cabins, ten standard cabins, nine premier cabins, and five log homes -- most of which are full service facilities, a greatly expanded pavilion of 1,748 square feet that includes two large grills; and a new multi-media presentation system in the remodeled recreation hall.

Other major improvements include a resurfaced swimming pool, upgraded playground equipment, new flooring and fixtures in the camp store, remodeled bath houses, wood fencing throughout the resort, 100 new picnic tables, new rocking chairs for the decks of all cabins, a new state-of-the-art website and many more.

Future improvements include a central sewer system and the development of the remaining 35 acres to include a lodge, full-service cabins and on and off-site log homes.

Reynolds is a Board member of the Tennessee Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (TNARVC) which is composed of over 60 private campgrounds across the state. Its mission is “to serve the special needs of RV parks and campgrounds in Tennessee and provide the public with the highest quality camping experience.”
