Mountaineer cheer

Heritage gets excited at Pep Rally on the Patio

Sherry Walker knows how to throw a party. When the day came for the Mountaineer’s Pep Rally on the Patio at Aubrey’s restaurant, Heritage teacher Sherry Walker had lined-up an exciting two hours for Blount Today Sports Radio and the crowd that gathered at Aubrey’s.

It rained a little, but nothing dampened the enthusiasm.

The cheerleaders were there.

The Heritage singers got things started.

The dance team performed.

The Best Fan contest found a quick winner.

And, as soon as practice was over, the team showed up with the coaches to enjoy burgers and hot dogs grilled on the patio by Aubrey’s chef Travis Stevens.

Jody Slimp, Aubrey’s manager, got into the spirit of the evening by wearing a perfectly matched to Heritage colors blue tie.

Over at the radio booth, Blount Today Sports Radio personalities Marty Millsaps and Joe Lambert pontificated on possible game strategies as the Mountaineers were set to play Maryville the next evening. They also interviewed former Heritage coach Jack Renfro, and played taped interviews with Maryville coach George Quarles and Heritage coach Brint Russell.
