Pellissippi State offers free ACT prep workshop

Planning to come to Pellissippi State Community College in fall 2010? Take advantage of the college’s free ACT preparation workshop, offered 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Pellissippi Campus on Hardin Valley Road.

The workshop gives students an excellent opportunity to brush up on their math and English skills before taking or retaking the ACT. Workshop attendees can expect to get ACT tips, sample questions and study aids.

The college will provide breakfast and lunch. In addition, Pellissippi State will provide transportation to students who live in Blount County and in the East Knoxville/Downtown Knoxville area. Students may be picked up at the college’s Blount County Center in Alcoa or at the Magnolia Avenue Campus. Pickup is at 8 a.m.

Students must complete the Pellissippi State admission application and pay the $10 application fee in order to attend the free workshop.

For reservations or information, contact Gayle Wood, director of the Access and Diversity Office, the workshop sponsor, at gwood@pstcc.edu or 865-539-7160.
