The Maryville College Young Alumni group got together on Thursday, Sept. 24, for a networking/Happy Hour gathering at RT Lodge. The group enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and conversation in the comfortably elegant rooms at RT Lodge, located in the wooded area behind Maryville College.
The Young Alumni group represents classes from the past ten years. They sponsor networking and other opportunities for the group throughout the year.
Next on the agenda for the MC Young Alumni Community is participation in Maryville College Homecoming activities Oct. 16-18, including the presentation of the “Kin Takahashi Award for Young Alumni. The award is given to an alumni within 15 years of graduation who “has lived a life characteristic of College legend Kin Takahashi, who, in his 36 years of living, worked tirelessly for the betterment of his alma mater, his church and his society,” according to award guidelines.
Being presented the award this year is Yvette Prinsloo Franklin, Class of 1998. For more information about the Maryville College Young Alumni or MC Homecoming, contact Katherine Best Caputo, assistant director for advancement, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 865-981-8201.
