When the South Carolina Gamecocks come to the McGhee Tyson Airport on Oct. 31, they’ll be greeted by the world’s largest trash bag “T.”
Keep Blount Beautiful is planning an opportunity for people to clean up the roadsides and show their Volunteer spirit. Volunteers can sign up to participate in The Big Orange Trash Bash Clean Up to help clean up Blount County roadsides anytime between Oct. 1 -25.
Volunteers can call Keep Blount Beautiful to pick up orange trash bags, gloves and vests provided by the Knoxville Metropolitan Airport Authority.
Then all orange bagged litter will be displayed at the McGhee Tyson Airport to welcome the University of South Carolina Gamecocks football team on Saturday, Oct. 31, with the world’s largest trash bag T symbol.
Free T-shirts will be given to the first 150 volunteers. Call 865-681-4809 to volunteer.
Sponsors for the event include the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority, the Blount County Landfill, The Blount County Sheriff’s Office, Keep Blount Beautiful and The Daily Times.
