Passengers and guests visiting McGhee Tyson Airport can now connect to the airport’s wireless Internet service for free. In addition to the subscription service already provided by T-Mobile, the airport now offers free connectivity throughout the entire airport terminal building.
“It is important that we continue to meet the needs of the people who use McGhee Tyson Airport as their choice for air travel,” said Kirk Huddleston, chairman of the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority’s Board of Commissioners. “By offering free Wi-Fi, we are affording our users the chance to stay connected while they are waiting for a flight or picking up a loved one.”
Driven by an increase in customer requests as well as the airport’s Board of Commissioners’ desire to consistently offer a high standard of customer service, the process to bring free Wi-Fi to the airport has been focused upon the customers who will be using it.
“We have worked to ensure that the free service we are providing is easy to use and is accessible to anyone who wishes to log on,” Huddleston said. “Through months of testing, we believe the service will be highly utilized and will be just one more reason why people choose McGhee Tyson Airport.”
