Dr. Kate Sheldon will have an open house at the new All is Well Healing Center in Maryville.

The All is Well Healing Center in Maryville is celebrating an open house from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20.

Originally the Ardis’ Healing Center of the Smokies, center director Dr. Kate Sheldon, DC, says the center has a team of professionals specializing in a holistic approach to health.

Sheldon specializes in a form of chiropractic called Applied Kinesiology which is a system of diagnostics that aid in healing. “People don’t realize we have all the answers in our body,” she said. “This is a way of communicating with your body. It’s highly specific to individual needs.”

Sheldon compliments that with nutritional technology called nutrition-response testing. “Nutritional response allows me to see if there’s a stresser that is stopping you from being able to heal,” she said.

Shelton served five years in the Navy, earned a BS in exercise science at the Ohio State University and completed her chiropractic degree at National University of Health Sciences in Chicago. Shelton practiced in Canton, Ohio and in Florida before moving to Blount County in September.

“It’s always been my dream to have a different kind of practice providing holistic health care without invasive procedures or prescribing medicine,” she said.

Practicioners at the center, whose motto is “Partners in the path of wellness,” include, Dr. Kate Sheldon, DC chiropractic, clinical nutrition and Reiki; Dr. Suzanne Jonas, Ed.D, sound healing, emotional freedom technique and biofeedback, CTS physical therapy and manual therapy; Julia Sauder, MT, massage therapy, acupressure, transpersonal bodywork; Mary Jane Cambell, body talk and source healing and Merideth Harrison, Jin Shin Jyutsu and Berkal Technique for Trauma Elimination.

All is Well Healing Center is located at 1131 East Lamar Alexander Parkway. They can be reached at 865-681-4111.
