ANG officer commissioning program moving to Alabama

The Air National Guard’s officer commissioning program is scheduled to move to Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., following the graduation of its final class at the I.G. Brown Air National Guard Training and Education Center at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base on June 26.

The Academy of Military Science will move to form a partnership with the Air Force’s Officer Training School. This move will provide a shared common experience for all officer candidates in the Total Force.

The Academy of Military Science was founded at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in 1971. It has commissioned more than 14,000 officers in the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserves.

The final class will culminate with a special commissioning and farewell ceremony.
