Shake off the winter blues with a stroll through downtown Maryville for the March Last Friday Art Walk beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 27. A variety of artists are on the line-up to entertain.
Maryville Arts Coalition executive director Katie Gamble said the penthouse at Davis Lofts is going to have a 12-person group exhibit sponsored by Jerry’s Artarama of Knoxville.
“Last Name and Zip Code is the name of the show, and there are a dozen artists, so it should be really interesting,” Gamble said. “That’s going to be a big deal.”
At Southland Books, Catherine Frye will feature her own stained glass works. Southland Books is located at 801 East Broadway Ave.
Capitol Theater is going to have a performance of “You Can’t Take it with You” by the Foothills Community Players. The Streamliners will play swing music at 9 p.m. after the production, Gamble said.
Painter Janie Welker will be featured at Boyd Thomas clothing. Fine Arts Blount will have their “In Style” exhibit at their Artspace Gallery at 106 East Broadway Ave., downtown near Brackin’s Blue’s Club.
Gamble said the February Last Friday Art Walk brought out a crowd even with low temperatures. “It was a great night,” she said. “It was a little cold but still people came out.”
