It was a day of learning and fun one recent Saturday at the Maryville Housing Authority.
The Family Fun Day hosted by the MHA brought together the resources of multiple government agencies to provide information and resources to local children and families.
The Feb. 21 event was organized by the staff of the Blount County Health Departments TENNderCARE program, and the MHA’s AmeriCorps Vista worker Ellen Patrick was on hand to supply valuable resources and information to the families in attendance.
Guests munched on hot dogs while representatives of the organizations in attendance handed out stickers, pencils and literature as well as dental-care items and other necessities.
Among the many agencies and companies involved in the event were AmeriChoice, Blount County Health Initiative, Blount County Mental Health and Suicide Alliance, Doral Dental, Maryville Fire and Police Departments, Maryville City Schools Coordinated School Health, Rural Metro, The Rush, U.T. Extension Office, Vol State Health Plan/Blue Cross Blue Shield, RIO Church and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Blount County.
