Blount County General Sessions Judge William Brewer, Jr., was recently elected vice president of the Tennessee General Sessions Judges Conference.
The conference represents all general sessions judges and municipal judges from the East Tennessee region. This is the second time Brewer has been selected vice president. He previously served in 1997.
In this position, Brewer is a member of the conference’s executive committee and is responsible for leadership of the conference, proposing areas of focus for legislative initiatives, helping the planning for continuing legal education programs and generally promoting the efficient and prompt administration of justice.
Brewer has been presiding General Sessions judge in Blount County since 2006. “It has been my privilege and pleasure to serve the citizens of Blount County as General Sessions judge since 1989,” he said. “I look forward to again serving our conference as vice president and believe these additional responsibilities will also benefit the local judiciary and our community.”
