Anyone interested in seeing how a green subdivision impacts the environment is invited to attend a fun day at the new River Shoals subdivision. The event is from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at River Shoals, near the COM Water treatment plant.
River Johns Outfitters will be providing canoeing with donations going towards the Little River Watershed Association. Tethered balloon rides, food and drinks horse shoes, Frisbee golf, badminton and playing in the river will also be enjoyed.
Developer Denise Weston said event planners want to let residents of Blount County know what a responsible low-impact green development can be. “We have a unique development with 1,200 feet of river frontage as well as a 33-acre green space which has abundant wildlife, deer, turkey, other migratory birds and other critters,” she said.
For information, call Weston at 865-680-2130.
