He had a Valentine’s Day birthday. Richard “Glenn” Bishop was born Feb. 14, 1959, and celebrated his 50th birthday this February.
On Sunday, May 31, Glenn passed away at Ft. Sanders Parkwest Hospital, the place where he worked. Glenn lived in Louisville and is survived by his wife of seven years, Linda Sue Bishop, and his mother, Joy Bishop. Joy is a well-known community leader, involved in many local charities and non-profits.
In addition to his wife and mother, Glenn leaves a saddened family that includes stepdaughter and husband Brandy and Chris Bell; grandchildren Dylan and Jade Bell; brother and sister-in-law Greg and Diane Bishop and family Gaston, Glenn, Russell and Natascha of Washington; brother-in-law Rick Case; father-in-law Cleve Pointer; Uncle Dorman Mahana of Lampasas, Texas; and aunt Judy Horn of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert A. Bishop.
Glenn was a member of Maryville Church of Christ. The memorial service will be at the church at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 5. Minister Dan Chambers will be officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Friends are welcome to visit at the home of Joy Bishop this week.
