Something new bloomed this spring in Townsend’s Trillium Cove. Sara Proffitt Berry, a former owner of Pope’s Garden Center, dusted off her talents and fertilized her love of gardens and flowers and opened The Garden Shop.
The seasoned and talented owner says simply, “I was ready,” for a new challenge and a way to get back to the gardening, landscaping and people-pleasing she enjoys.
The Garden Shop is both a store for things to plant and things for those who enjoy working and relaxing in the garden and patio areas. Birdhouses, garden sculptures, handy tools and pretty accessories with gardening and outdoor themes fill the shops interior, while plants, flowers, mulch and other living, growing things spread out from the porches and sidewalks.
Joining the growing businesses at Trillium Cove is The Garden Shop’s across-the-sidewalk neighbor Mountain Sage, which owners relocated to the shopping area in April, just after The Garden Shop opened. Photos from the opening of Mountain Sage can be seen on-line at www.BlountToday.com.
Trillium Cove is located in Townsend on East Lamar Alexander Parkway (Hwy. 321). The Garden Shop at Trillium Cove is at 137 Painted Trillium Way, 865-738-3261.
