The weather didn’t want to cooperate, but you can’t keep three generations of this family on the ground once they have made up their mind. Paul Hilman, Steve Sullivan and Daniel Sullivan decided a trip to Adventure Skydiving center outside Atlanta was just the place for the adventure of a lifetime. After two failed attempts due to poor weather, the family arrived at Adventure Skydiving on April 24 for a third-time-charm day.
Paul, age 79, Steve and Daniel jumped tandem style from 14,000 feet into a clear sky over Georgia.
“It was more exhilarating and breaktaking than I had tried to even imagine,” said Daniel. “My mom, Janet Sullivan, watched from the landing zone as her father, husband, and finally, son exited the aircraft and free-fell for 60 seconds. I am sure it was more nerve-wracking than she let on.”
The canopies opened, said Daniel, and “we each enjoyed a four-minute ride down to a perfect landing. It is a memory I will never forget.”
The day is sure to live forever in family lore!
Daniel, a student at the University of Tennessee, is a graduate of Alcoa High School and is working as an intern this summer in Sen. Bob Corker’s Knoxville office.
