Blount Memorial Marketing wins state, local awards

The public relations and marketing department at Blount Memorial Hospital has received state and local honors from the Tennessee Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations and the Volunteer Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for work it completed in 2008.

At the annual TSHMPR awards banquet in March, Blount Memorial was recognized with three first-place PRISM awards and three second-place Citation awards. Winning first-place honors were the hospital’s display designs, the 2008 Annual Report to the Community and Women’s Health column.

The hospital received Citations for media relations with the Medical Fitness Center’s Fashion Accessible event; design and graphics for a new computerized system, Lawson; and its employee newsletter, Checkmate.

In April, Blount Memorial also was recognized at the PRSA awards banquet with first-place honors for its Good Health magazine; Casino Royale at Royal Oaks invitation design; Celebrate Spring women’s retreat for special events two to seven days in length; Checkmate, the employee newsletter; Lawson poster design for an internal computer system; and its Women’s Health column.

The department also was recognized with second-place Awards of Merit in two writing categories for work on a feature story introducing Breast MRI to the hospital’s offerings and a hard news piece communicating the hospital’s participation in a national cardiac challenge and the creation of a STEMI team.
