County, city schools closed due to weather

Snow fell in large, wet flakes over downtown Maryville Monday.

Alcoa City, Maryville City and Blount County schools have closed due to inclement weather.

Alcoa City Schools will close at 11:30 a.m.

Maryville Elementary Schools and Maryville Intermediate School will close at noon.

Maryville Middle and Maryville High School will close at 1 p.m.

Blount County Schools will close at noon as well.

Other closings include:

* First Tennessee bank will close all of its banking facilities in Knoxville, Maryville, Morristown and Dandridge at 3 p.m.

* At Maryville College, Monday's scheduled women's basketball game at Wesleyan College in Georgia has been cancelled due to poor weather in the area. The GSAC match up will be re-scheduled at a later date.

* "Monday Rocks" at the Capitol Theatre will not be held tonight, and the band, Flashback, has been rescheduled to next Monday.
