There seems to be a nice theme to a lot of the holiday shopping going on in Blount County -- shop for presents while giving a present to a local non-profit.
At Chilhowee View Community Center, a Victorian Village was the theme of the shopping benefit on Saturday, Nov. 21, and shoppers had the opportunity to help New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center, Blount County Habitat for Humanity, the homeless and the community center itself.
The Village was filled with decorated trees, music, arts and crafts shops, heirloom quilts, bake sale and children’s activities. Vendors offered both seasonal items and good gift ideas for those in a holiday mood, including some original art work. Sponsors were Arts Alive Gallery, Chilhowee View Community Center and Blount County Flower Shop.
