Springbrook Splendor

Rain date keeps party going for Hometown Christmas

The rain kept Hometown Christmas’ Springbrook Splendor from happening on Monday night, but Tuesday proved to be a dry, if slightly cold, night for the festivities. The second leg of Hometown Christmas, sponsored by Maryville Alcoa Blount County Parks and Recreation and Blount Today, was a big hit this year with the new hay ride, luminaries and, of course, Santa’s visit.

Springbrook Splendor takes place in the upper fields of Alcoa Springbrook Park. This traditional party featured pathways lit with luminaries, refreshments, a visit from Santa and the lighting of the Christmas Tree. A hay ride down some of the shorter streets in Alcoa was an added attraction this year. The popular Alcoa Singers and the Alcoa Elementary School Christmas Choir got everyone in the Christmas spirit with the musical portion of the evening.
