On Monday, October 5, the Smoky Mountain Explorers 4-H club baked sugar cookies and made thank you cards for their sponsors in appreciation for their much needed help and support.
Smoky Mountain Explorers club leader, Robyn Parker; Food and Nutrition project leader, Pat Hoffman; and club president, Cory Thacker, among others, spent an average of three hours per person working vigorously in the kitchen of the East Broadway Baptist church where their meetings are.
They made five boxes, each with two dozen sugar cookies. These cookies were beautifully sculpted in the shape of a four leaf clover, the universal 4-H symbol, glazed with a crispy green icing and topped with colorful sprinkles. The grateful 4-Hers also composed five thank you cards to go with the boxes. Each card was decorated with vibrant lettering, signed by each of the members, and a group picture was attached inside.
Other participants in this project were Ian Brown, Kade Parker, Rosita Lane, Davis Parker, Emily McIntire, Brianna Gresham, Janice Hoffman, Jonah Gilbertson, Connor Brown, Ethan Lane, Noah McIntire and Brandon Hoffman.
