Craig Cadarette and Terry McWilliams started All American Real Estate Clean Out and Services after being laid off from Alcoa, Inc., when the economy forced the smelting operations to close.

When the handwriting was on the wall that Alcoa Aluminum Company was cutting its smelting operations, Craig Cadarette knew he had to come up with a Plan B. That is what prompted Cadarette and Terry McWilliams to start a new business, All American Real Estate Clean Out & Services.

“We knew it was coming,” said Cadarette, who was a supervisor with Alcoa, Inc., before the layoffs.

From previous experience and a lot of research, Cadarette felt like a business specializing in cleaning and clearing out houses would be a natural fit. And when it came to finding a business partner, Cadarette said he knew he wanted to work with McWilliams. The two worked side by side at the aluminum company and became good friends and their families have become close, too.

Cadarette’s father who retired from Alcoa, Inc., operated a carpet cleaning business for 35 years. Cadarette said he gained valuable experience by working with his dad in the carpet cleaning business.

Research paid off when Cadarette read about a company in Atlanta that specialized in clean up and debris removal from foreclosed homes. By combining experience and research, Cadarette and McWilliams created All American Real Estate Clean Out & Services.

Cadarette said All American Real Estate Clean Out & Services can perform almost any service to get a house back into shape for the homeowner or to get a house ready to put on the market. Just some of the work the company can handle include general cleaning, debris removal and minor repairs such as replacing doors, windows, light fixtures, changing locks or fixing porch damage.

“If we can’t do it, we can find somebody to help,” Cadarette said. He said that with the contacts through fellow former Alcoa, Inc., employees, he knows enough hard working people who can help with any job. Eventually, Cadarette wants his new company to become so successful that he can employ some of his fellow co-workers.

“We want to make a living and help people out and get them some employment,” Cadarette said.

Cadarette and McWilliams have invested money to purchase carpet cleaning equipment, a power washer, signs, a panel truck and a trailer.

All American Real Estate Clean Out & Services opened for business in April and Cadarette and McWilliams are hard at work to get the word out about the business and the services they can provide homeowners, real estate agents and home builders.

All American Real Estate Clean Out & Services serves Blount, Knox and Sevier counties. For more information, contact Cadarette at 865-789-6820 or McWilliams at 865-556-0090.
