A show car for NASCAR’s No. 11 FedEx Express Toyota will be on display Aug. 18 at DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee between 1:30-4:30 p.m. The Toyota Camry will be available where DENSO associates and the general public can view the car and take photos.
To be located in the parking lot adjacent to DENSO’s softball field, located at 1720 Robert C. Jackson Drive in the Blount Industrial Park, this full-scale show car -- complete with race engine and built to race specifications -- is track ready.
FedEx NASCAR specialists will be available to answer questions. Souvenirs will also be offered for purchase from the trailer transporting the vehicle. No. 11’s driver Denny Hamlin will not be able to be with this vehicle at DENSO.
Hamlin is currently fifth in the Sprint Cup Series Chase for the Championship. Winner of the Pennsylvania 500 Aug. 3 at Pocono Raceway, he is attempting his fourth consecutive Sprint Cup championship chase. The car owner is Joe Gibbs Racing.
“Having a NASCAR show car at DENSO is an opportunity for area race fans, both DENSO associates and our community members too,” said Mike Brackett, DENSO vice president of general services. “We want fans to make keepsake photos and share this up-close experience with a track-ready vehicle.”
FedEx Express officials selected DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee as a display location in recognition of the longstanding relationship between the two companies, reported Bo Jones, Senior International Account Executive of FedEx Express international sales. DENSO is both a national and global account as well as being a Toyota-related group company. Toyota is also one of DENSO’s key customers.
In the event of rain, the display will still be available.
