The Maryville Rotary Club welcomed a new president at a club assembly on Thursday, June 25. Outgoing President David Gill joined several past presidents as they passed the gavel to president-elect Dr. Jeffrey Eberting.

Eberting will serve as the club’s president from July 2009- June 2010. “I am extremely humbled that I have been chosen to lead our club for the next year,” says Eberting. “It is my sincere hope that I continue in the tradition of the past presidents of our club.”

With the help of the club’s board of directors, Eberting has several goals for the Maryville Rotary Club in the upcoming year. He plans to implement the Club Leadership Plan as recommended by Rotary International, establish a non-profit foundation for the club and attract and retain quality individuals as part of the club’s membership. “We have a dynamic board of directors who bring to the table experience and dedication in serving our community and our world. I am extremely grateful to be a part of their team,” Eberting says.

Maryville Rotary also named Ron Appuhn Rotarian of the Year for his hard work and dedication to the club.

The Maryville Rotary Club was chartered in 1950 and currently has 55 members. The club meets every Thursday at noon at Green Meadow Country Club. For more information about the club and their projects, visit www.maryvillerotary.org.
