A crowd of Leadership Blount friends, business supporters and alums gathered at Smithview Pavilion July 28 to welcome a new class to their first official Leadership Blount activity. The Class of 2010 was introduced both to the crowd of alums gathered at the outdoor dinner and to each other as they begin their year as the 20th class of Leadership Blount.
The new members came from a cross-section of the community with business, government, education and community volunteers all finding a place on this year’s roster.
The members will spend the next year learning about all facets of Blount County life. They will get acquainted with an overnight stay at the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, spend one day a month experiencing different aspects of Blount County, travel to Nashville to learn about state government and volunteer their time in a class project to benefit the community.
The July 28th event also gave alumni from previous classes the chance to catch up with one another and see the new logo unveiled as part of the evening’s festivities.
