The comedy duo Bean and Bailey will record a DVD at the Capitol Theater on Aug. 14.
Jackson Bailey, a 1992 William Blount High School graduate, said he and his comedy partner Bradley Bean have recorded three compilation DVDs on sale in family bookstores. They are also on Sirius Satellite Radio on the Laugh USA channel on a regular basis. “We decided we would finally shoot our own DVD, and we’ll do that at the Capitol on Aug. 14,” he said.
Bailey said the show is at 7 p.m., and the doors open at 6:15 p.m. “We’ll do a live recording. We’ll do the full show, take break and come back and do some other fun stuff,” said Bailey.
Bean and Bailey are East Tennessee natives. Bailey grew up in Louisville. Bean is a Morristown native. Bailey, 35, and his wife, Kimberly, have two children. Bean and his wife, Sharon, have three children. “All four of us went to Carson-Newman,” Bailey said.
Bailey said he was looking forward to the DVD taping and praised Capitol Theater owner Heath Claiborne for the improvements to the theater.
“I’m pretty excited to do it, mainly because of the great job Heath has done at the Capitol. We had been looking at places to shoot but when I saw the Capitol, it was the perfect place to do it. It’s such a good venue,” he said. “It’s a great place to shoot and our family and friends can see what we’re doing. We’re pretty pumped to be able to do that.”
