Reports surfaced Tuesday that William Blount football coach Scott Meadows has been extended an offer to become head coach at Knoxville Catholic.
Sources confirmed Tuesday that Meadows, who returned to the Governor helm this spring after year-long leave of absence, has met twice with Catholic officials in recent days. William Blount principal Steve LaFon said Tuesday he is aware the Irish have offered the position to the Governor coach but that neither Catholic nor Meadows have brought the matter before him.
“I have not heard anything officially,” LaFon said. “We were told he had not accepted it yet.”
Meadows returned a phone call to Blount Today on Tuesday evening and said he had no comment.
