The Blount County Children’s Home, located at 903 McCammon Avenue in Maryville, recently announced new board members appointed by Maryville Mayor Jerry Cunningham.
The five members selected to serve three-year terms are John Huffman of Matrixx Mail Service; Monica Murrell, a Blount County Commissioner; Dr. Cedric Palmer of UT Family Physicians; Lynn Waters of Realty Executives and Green Bank; and Johnny Weston of Realty III and Johnny Weston and Associates.
The five members selected to serve two-year terms are Debbie Dunn of Olympia Child and Development Center; David Dwyer of Graphic Design and professional actor; Mike Moore of the Air National Guard; and James Snyder, attorney.
The five members serving a one-year term are Claudia Brady of Haven House; Tom Eustis, a community volunteer; Denette Flynn of Roane State Community College; Christina Headrick from the Department of Child Serves; and Wendy Pitts Reeves, a Blount County Commissioner and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
The Director of the BCCH is Rod Jackson. Board officers for 2008-2009 are as follows: Johnny Weston, chair; Claudia Brady, vice-chair; Tom Eutis, treasurer; and John Huffman, secretary.
The Blount County Children’s Home is celebrating 115 years of service to the children and families of the Blount County area. Each month they serve an average of 43 children, 28 families and over 200 work hours spent on the improvement and strengthening of adults, children and families to reach their full potential.
