Organizers of the 6th Leadership Summit have announced the full agenda for the April 17 event. The Leadership Summit, entitled “Finding the Silver Lining in an Economic Storm,” is co-hosted by Leadership Blount and Maryville College’s Center for Strong Communities. The half-day event will be held at First United Methodist Church in Maryville.
Attendance to the Leadership Summit is by invitation only.
Keynote breakfast is at 7:30 a.m., led by the University of Tennessee economist Dr. Bill Fox.
The schedule is:
Concurrent plenary sessions are from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. and repeated from 10:45 to noon
Health Care Reform featuring State Senator Doug Overbey; Joe Dawson, Blount Memorial Hospital; Dr. Mark Green.
Tourism featuring Commissioner Susan Whitaker, Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.
Business and Industry featuring Kathy Metts, Impact Associates; Brett McBrayer, Alcoa, Inc.; Curt Bogle, Marriott Business Services.
Community Development/Social Services featuring Madeline Rogero, City of Knoxville’s Department of Community Development.
U.S. Congressman and candidate for governor Zach Wamp (3rd District) is the keynote speaker at the 12:15 p.m. luncheon.
